Creating your style forms your persona. I want the little girl in me to be the badass she always envisioned. Dress up is play and catharsis.
What makes your style stand out?
My style is based on play, self expression, & connecting with the whimsicality of who I was as a kid. I've always been drawn to gothic, darker aesthetics; I feel the most powerful in black. I love buying a piece that I know I would've killed to rock in kindergarten, my pink hair is a prime example. I pride myself on sustainability, I'm co-president of a sustainable fashion/art club at my college. I'm a maximalist, I love accessorizing, layering, & finding weird new ways to style/diy old pieces.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
I've always wanted to wear Frankiestein's dress from monster high, I've sketched a reimagination of it for myself that I dream to someday wear. Taking style inspiration from the dolls I played with has been very creatively & emotionally fulfilling. I loved seeing popstars in outrageous outfits on tv growing up, the elaborate concepts, the makeup, the way they'd dazzle under lights, it all felt so magical. I'd love to style a runway line of pieces inspired by some of my favorites growing up.
What would you do with $20,000?
If you asked me at any age what I wanted to do when I grow up, I'd say own my own business. I'm currently in college studying just that, and I have hopes of someday becoming a professional stylist. $20,000 would be my chance to try to achieve my dreams, which would otherwise be put on the back burner due to the need for reliable income to pay off my student loan debt. That money could be my chance to start my career in the path that I truly want to be in, and I wouldn't let it go to waste.
