I like to feel and look good about myself as a person with a disability it is my pursuit to show beauty in my life
We would like to thank you for supporting Denise Prehay in this years competition. Your participation allows us to empower the Elton John AIDS Foundation in their mission to end AIDS for everyone, everywhere.
What makes your style stand out?
I love to keep steady classics. Keeping in mind with Lady Chanel herself, one can never be overdressed, so I enjoying keeping my wardrobe fresh but classic. There are just some staples that will always be in style and let me stand out and turn heads with each wear.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
I was born with Cerebral Palsy yet even at a young age I adored my mother and older women who wore posh dresses and hats. Since then, even with my disability I never lacked fashion sense and was eager to one day showcase it with pride and grace. Eventually I was asked to participate in a fashion showcase for people with Disabilities and modeled my best 1920s ensemble through an initiative called BOLD BEAUTY PROJECT in Miami. I have since continued pursuits in fashion and modeling.
What would you do with $20,000?
Granted if I am awarded or recognized to honor your title as a Style Icon, it would a humbling experience to hold this title but I'd share it with others by traveling and promoting your brand and bringing awareness to others like myself and in the fashion world through Art, Music and other creative forums alike.
