Fashion has been both a way of creating myself and expressing creativity daily no matter mental or physical health struggles. It’s just me!
What makes your style stand out?
Raw materials. Parts of any outfit come from the most unexpected of places- the hardware store, craft store liquidations, the local church thrift store, the dollar store. Anything I can get my hands on, if I like the color, if I like the texture, It’ll probably end up in an outfit. 95% of my clothes are second hand- if I really want something I gotta save up. This means a fun creative exercise where I work with what I can find that fits and stands out. My surroundings and I create my style.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
A latex toole grommet filled Rocco masquerade on Vegas strip. Deep sea diving gear + bubble wrap + a myriad of clown ruffles meets beach photo shoot. Any fashion dream of mine involves dramatic shapes, and at least two maybe related maybe completely unrelated ideas. some of my favorite looks came from asking what if Barbie met clown, or Lolita met hypno, or Pirate met Elizabethan?
What would you do with $20,000?
I would invest in the fashion side of my art! In my city I’m known as a local art vendor and performer. As a performer I make a lot of my own accessories and clothing, but I rarely get a chance to vend these as I haven’t been able to invest enough and the necessary investment is much more than that of prints and stickers. Also I make harnesses and belts out of interlocking acrylic hearts I laser cut. I’d make my twin, one of my biggest inspirations, an acrylic heart trench coat.
