My style has an impact: it is sustainable through buying secondhand, a form of self-expression, and how I love on my body.
What makes your style stand out?
My penchant for patterns, pops of color, a maximalist aesthetic with metallic accents, and more make my style stand out in every room I walk into. I don't even have to say a word. My style speaks for me.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
My dream fashion moment happened at the For the Girls sale that Paloma Elsesser put on with some other women in the fashion world last summer in NYC. I got to shop designer items from their personal closets and all the proceeds went to support people in occupied Congo, Sudan, and Palestine. I got a pair of spiked mary janes that are an Ugg and Collina Strada collab and a pair of Alexander McQueen boots that are by far my favorite pieces to wear.
What would you do with $20,000?
The first two things that came to mind would be giving a portion of it to the Black Power Blueprint, an anti-colonial, black self-determination project based in St. Louis, MO that's transforming the conditions in the neglected Northside. I would also give another portion to The Wardrobe, a non-profit that I have been working at for over two years that provides free clothing, accessories, and toiletries to people who need them. The rest I would use to support myself and my family.
