Being Disabled I’ve learned my style is representative. My honest answer to passion is striving for an expression that homes all voices.
We would like to thank you for supporting Camila in this years competition. Your participation allows us to empower the Elton John AIDS Foundation in their mission to end AIDS for everyone, everywhere.
What makes your style stand out?
From the detail in these historical art pieces were unfathomable. With my bright colors of orange and blue garments and the daintiest red rock as a necklace, I find my calling.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
I’d like to dream that there’s room for someone with my body type in the fashion industry. Due to my disability and the treatments I am currently using, I find my body in constant states of change. I’d like to have my frame, no matter if it is not societally of the norm, be seen as something that breaks the standard. My dream? Call me Mermaid, call me Princess, call me Warrior, call me Camila.
What would you do with $20,000?
Personally, my mom has instilled in me since childhood that money comes and goes. Knowing how twenty grand can change a future. I would divide my disbursement. My family is not the only family struggling financially. Having known this I would place a project of Congo and Palestine. Secondly, a portion for my future in terms of my financial dependence on housing as a person with disability. Lastly, a portion to help my mother with our current living situation.
