Style excites me because, as a queer person, it’s fluid, rooted in history, and fuses art forms into self-expression and storytelling.
We would like to thank you for supporting Cameron McKinnon in this years competition. Your participation allows us to empower the Elton John AIDS Foundation in their mission to end AIDS for everyone, everywhere.
What makes your style stand out?
My style is playful yet intentional. Vintage pieces, layered basics, and bold accessories that give every outfit its own attitude.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
My dream fashion moment would be being featured in a magazine spread wearing my favorite brands—pieces that reflect my queer identity and love of mixing history with modern edge. To see myself styled in looks that layer past and present, while celebrating fashion as art, would feel like both validation and a chance to show how personal style can tell stories and challenge convention.
What would you do with $20,000?
I’d invest it into building my fashion career—funding my education, creating projects that spotlight queer voices, and curating a wardrobe that blends makes me feel like “me.” I’d also put resources into my blog, In The Closet, and creative work, using style as a platform to connect history, art, and identity while carving out space for others like me in the industry.
