What makes your style stand out?

I don’t adhere to trends or a strict code. I dress by feel - each piece is chosen because it makes me happy, and they all come from different sources: a new shirt that I pair with a vintage blazer, a necklace from my grandmother, a belt I picked up from a market in Guatemala, a handbag my mother gave me, perhaps a thrifted pair of jeans. There’s no exact formula, it’s just comprised of pieces that bring me joy and all have a story and memories attached.

What’s your dream fashion moment?

Someday I hope to be a creative director for a fashion house, or a designer. My aunt is Pamella Roland, a designer based in my home state of Michigan, who also holds shows in New York Fashion Week. I’ve been lucky enough to attend a few shows and am electrified by the energy each time. Through hard work and continuous learning, I hope someday to prove myself worthy of being a part of her company, ensuring her legacy stays true to her vision. Family comes first in everything I do.

What would you do with $20,000?

In addition to my love of fashion, I am also a writer, and started a podcast and blog called “The Green Ribbon Project” which aims to remove the stigma of mental health struggles. My ultimate goal is to provide those seeking help with direct support from mental health professionals, and turn the project into a non-profit, but funding is hard to come by. $20,000 would provide start-up funding to make that a reality, and fulfill a dream of mine to help people struggling, as I have.
