Brennan Llewelyn

I seek to use my body, makeup and clothes as a canvas to physically express the abstract concepts present in my music.

What makes your style stand out?

For each musical project I’m involved in, I create a different stage persona for me to write and perform as. Each of these characters speaks, acts, moves, and dress differently; every time I adapt a new role I’ll dye my hair, get a new wardrobe, and spend weeks adjusting my body language and tone of voice. By adjusting the subtext of my and image of my performance, I can subtly influence different emotional reactions, allowing for a more detailed and immersive experience.

What’s your dream fashion moment?

I want to perform at the Fox Theatre in a custom outfit of my design. I would be wearing a double breasted suit reminiscent of the 1940s with peak lapels, shoulder pads, and pleated pants. The suit would be black velvet with gold accents to draw out contrast. With this I would wear a silver silk blouse with a gold floral pattern and Dr Martens from the national gallery collection. For makeup, I would do winged eyeliner similar to Prince’s look on The Gold Experience but with green eyeshadow.

What would you do with $20,000?

First I would hire a publicist to help promote my work more effectively to a broader audience. Next I would hire a social media manager to create content and try to drive traffic to streaming services and ticket sales. The combination of these two hires would allow me to spend more time on creating art and less on promotion. After this I would launch an official merch brand through Shopify to sell my clothing designs on my website and across social media
