What makes your style stand out?

I use bold colors choices, different patterns and my height to make a statement. I often use comfort and personality for material choices such as nostalgic patterns. I like to contrast different genres in order to create meaning through use of materials.

What’s your dream fashion moment?

My dream fashion moment would be to make embroidered, screen printed outfits that invokes memory and furniture that still functions as clothing. The hybrid aspect of the work is intended to reference how people become attached to their homes, memories and belongings. I would want to make these for Ukrainian models to make a fashion statement about its history and the current war.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would use the 20,000 dollars invest in my career by attending Rijksakademie artist residency in Amsterdam. Making this work would help me tell the story of my Ukrainian American heritage and art practice to an international audience. I feel this persecutive is unique because of how my multicultural identity reflects upon the uncertainty of American and Ukrainian politics through interdisciplinary fiber artworks.
