Styling to me is like creating a new character everyday. It gives me the ability to be whoever I want and giving me the confidence to do so.
We would like to thank you for supporting Amira Schwerdt in this years competition. Your participation allows us to empower the Elton John AIDS Foundation in their mission to end AIDS for everyone, everywhere.
What makes your style stand out?
My style matches my personality. That being said, it’s impossible to duplicate. It’s unique, fun, spontaneous and daring. I was once compared to Raven from Disney’s That’s So Raven - which happened to be one of my favorite shows growing up. Since then, I knew I wanted to keep people on their toes for what I’d be wearing for days to come.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
My dream fashion moment is to start an archive of my favorite designer, Mr. Thierry Mugler. His 90’s collections were the moment. I admire his work and creativity and he kept my eyes starved for more beauty. My dreams are infinite though, so the possibilities are endless.
What would you do with $20,000?
With $20,000, I’d start a mentorship program for people interested in fashion looking to get started in the industry. As I’ve progressed in my career, I’ve had so many people ask me how to get started in theirs. As someone who hasn’t had mentorship and found their way completely on their own, I would love to provide a platform where minds can learn, connect, and create with likeminded individuals, giving them the tools they need to succeed.
