I dress to be authentic just to feel sexy in myself and in my creativity. It’s not what you wear, it’s how you wear it.
We would like to thank you for supporting Amelie Stevens in this years competition. Your participation allows us to empower the Elton John AIDS Foundation in their mission to end AIDS for everyone, everywhere.
What makes your style stand out?
I create a lot of my own clothing, thrifting pieces and altering them. I want to be authentic to myself. I dress for myself and I hope to inspire others to do the same.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
I am a creative. I dance, sing, and live for fashion. I’ve also struggled with anxiety, adhd and depression my whole life. I’d love to one day to reach people with all aspects of my creativity including fashion and send the message it’s okay to feel, and it’s okay to be yourself. That no one is alone. Fashion has such a box still. It’s time to break it.
What would you do with $20,000?
If I were to win the money, I would have more freedom to truly invest my time into my creativity, art, and passions, and hopefully make something sensational. I would also donate some of the money to family’s in Palestine, as well as to mental health organizations.
