Amaury Espino

My passion for style comes from turning nostalgia into modernity. It’s my form of expression, a way to embody and externalize my mood.

What makes your style stand out?

What makes my style stand out is that it’s not copied, it’s curated by me. I mix the classic with the bold, never afraid of contrasts. I have that eye for how one detail—whether it’s a texture, an accessory, or a cut—can transform the whole look and make it unique, mine. For me, style is not about following rules—it’s about creating a world where elegance meets boldness, and where every detail tells a story. My vision is to push boundaries while staying true to my essence.

What’s your dream fashion moment?

My dream fashion moment would be to see people on the streets wearing something I designed—pieces that become part of everyday life, not just something seen on a runway. For me, the true impact of fashion is when it transforms into culture, like what Converse or Dr. Martens once did. That’s the legacy I want: to create something that lives beyond trends and becomes part of people’s identities.

What would you do with $20,000?

If I won the $20,000, I would use it to properly launch my project Cattus Studio, focused on design and customization, giving it the structure it needs to grow into a fashion house. And because I’m also a jazz and R&B singer, I would invest a small part of it to finish the mix and master of my first EP. For me, both fashion and music are forms of storytelling—and this prize would help me bring those stories to life on a larger scale.
