For generations women in my family designed clothes as a love language. I aspire to empower everyone to embody fashion as a form of art.
We would like to thank you for supporting Alia Gonzalez in this years competition. Your participation allows us to empower the Elton John AIDS Foundation in their mission to end AIDS for everyone, everywhere.
What makes your style stand out?
When I pick my outfit for the day it is essential that it compliments the mood that I am in. I do not have one aesthetic I believe to style clothes one should not be limited to one aesthetic. I use clothes to express my emotions, to show the words that I cannot form. Style is more than clothes and accessories, to me it is a reflection of my internal self.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
Since I was 5 I would use left over fabric my grandma would put to the side for me and make clothes for my Barbie’s. My dream is to design clothes and be in a room full of people who appreciate fashion and desire to surpass the limits. To do what has not been done because fashion has no limits and there is no time to stop our creativity. I will make it known.
What would you do with $20,000?
Fashion is one of my many passions however I am enrolled in college and in the future I dream of getting a PHD in psychology. I would put half down for my education and the other half I would like to donate to children in need.
