Being the best me I can be requires the best outfit to match my personality. I want to be “show stopping”, make heads turn.
We would like to thank you for supporting Alexis Barrett in this years competition. Your participation allows us to empower the Elton John AIDS Foundation in their mission to end AIDS for everyone, everywhere.
What makes your style stand out?
My style is versatile. I can have a certain aesthetic one day and then completely change it up the next. Yet, whatever I wear, I make sure it compliments me. I often times put things together in ways some people wouldn’t think to. It’s all about how you wear the clothes and stand confidently in them. Wearing what makes me feel good about myself is so important. It carries me through the day. Sometimes the right outfit makes me feel like I can do anything.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
I don't have a dream “fashion moment” per se. A dream would be to have enough clothes in my closet to wear something unique everyday. Lots of interchangeable options to keep the dressing up process fun. I want something for any occasion and any mood. Like right now, I am a college student and it’s gotten difficult at times to both dress comfortably and appropriately for my days around campus. With an expanded wardrobe I’d be able to present myself how I want to every day.
What would you do with $20,000?
There are a few things I would do if I could. One is a trip for my mom. She is the whole reason I am where I am today and she deserves so much. She’s always dreamt of being in Paris and I’d love to see her finally go. A part of the money would also go to supporting my college journey and the career I have afterwards. I am studying to be an interior designer, so I’d invest in making a name for myself. In the future, I hope to make enough to fix up my mom’s house the way she’s dreamed.
