As a student studying fashion design, I am not only passionate about style but what my designs represent and what impact they can leave.
What makes your style stand out?
My personal style mostly stems from 70s vintage, however any vintage I can work into my style is my favorite as well as wearing my own pieces. You will catch me in lots of warm colors. I’ll be wearing my favorite pair of elephant bell bottoms and may style them with my yellow bubble textured sleeveless sweater I created in my machine knitting class. My style stands out because I take my inspiration from previous generations. Bringing life back into pieces once loved and cherished.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
I believe fashion is not only a form of art but a way to tell the world your truths. My dream is to have my collection walk the runway with the audience understanding my collection concept. Proving that fashion is more than clothing, but the words we are too afraid to say. I would use the softest and most durable materials like cashmere and leather and connect them together. My goal is to present the world with the concept of how we as people can be both soft and strong simultaneously.
What would you do with $20,000?
Because I am a first generation college student, I have had to navigate college financially independent. Throughout undergrad so far, I’ve done my best to maintain a part time job while balancing my education, collegiate a cappella group, and my social life. It hasn’t been an easy road, but truly one that has been worth every challenge. I couldn’t imagine being on another path. Because of these circumstances, I would use the money to help pay for a portion of my tuition for undergrad.
