al barnum

I attended the original Woodstock in 1969. I was 19 yrs. old. My life changed forever, vegetarian, meditation & ignoring fashion trends.

We would like to thank you for supporting al barnum in this years competition. Your participation allows us to empower the Elton John AIDS Foundation in their mission to end AIDS for everyone, everywhere.

What makes your style stand out?

Not sure, but I know I am the only one in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico that was at the original Woodstock in 69 and still wears Aged, dark, Indonesia Patchouli oil.The same thing applied when I lived in Gwangju, S. Korea for 8 years as an ESL University professor, until I retired to Mexico in 2016. Many people compliment on my fragrance and ask wear to buy it.

What’s your dream fashion moment?

Just recognition for the fact, it is ok to move to the beat of a different drummer & not to the dictates of what the media states you should wear and look like to fit in with the current trend. All of my apartments and houses have been decorated to what I like and others seem to like it as well.

What would you do with $20,000?

Secure a small retirement cottage/cabin with a garden & kayak, while continuing to help those I know could use a little assistance. My life has been one of service. My undergraduate motto at Oakwood College, HBCU was, " Enter to learn, Depart to serve". I made that my life's motto.
