Fashion is the greatest expression I could ever ask for. I find a piece of my most authentic self in every outfit I put together:)
We would like to thank you for supporting Addison Ackerman in this years competition. Your participation allows us to empower the Elton John AIDS Foundation in their mission to end AIDS for everyone, everywhere.
What makes your style stand out?
My style stands out because it has a mixture of so many aesthetics and it not only adapts to where I am but the time, while also incorporating the past. I love to incorporate vintage pieces in my looks as well as tying them into trendy pieces to give my looks this amalgam of aesthetics to push myself to not fit into just one. I also think I have a certain edge that allows me to be feminine while also having a certain toughness that can contradict a stereotype that follows women in fashion.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
My dream is to one day attend the met gala and wear a piece that is custom made for me in both my vision and the designers. As someone who is a creative I would love to watch a designer use me as their canvas for art as well as be their outlet to portray their vision at such a big and lively event like the met gala. To me, the met gala is the greatest day of the year, it is the day I watch designers put out their best work and showcase their gifts, which to be is the most beautiful experience .
What would you do with $20,000?
I’m currently a student in college so I would save the money for future education (law school) or use it for an internship in NYC over the summer. I would love to intern for a fashion magazine, however living in the city is very expensive so I would use the money to pay for my living so I could afford to work without pay for the magazines to network and possibly make connections for a future job opportunity in the fashion industry.
