What makes your style stand out?
Living in a black and white world - I create my own colour palate. I interpret a style, a fashion, a hairstyle WHEN I FEEL like it! My style is a journey, not a destination, a path I’ve been on 64 years. Truth is, more important than the exterior, my smile is my passport; no matter the outer costume, my spirit cannot be manufactured.
What’s your dream fashion moment?
I'm the director of every choice. Speakers are blaring George Michael’s Too Funky morphing into Freedom as I strut the catwalk of my life. My smileON lights up the people watching. The rich and famous are heard mumbling, ‘I used to be that happy.’ The displaced, the unknown shout out, ‘he is one of us!' No black out; I just keep walking into the light.
What would you do with $20,000?
I made a documentary on our younger brother who passed in Vancouver of a drug overdose 5 years ago called Interpreting Erik - displaced, unknown yet a brilliant writer and artist. My life is all about making Erik known the world over. I'd love to use the money to find new ways of helping the world discover ERIK through HIS LIGHT, the evidence of his talent he bequeathed us.
