What makes your style stand out?

I always strive to merge contemporary with traditional as I believe each enhances and informs the other. My painting is very much a merging of these two directions and I recently received a 7th Annual International Da Vinci Award in Milan, Italy. I am currently included in a publication, Master Artists to Collect and The New Protagonists of Contemporary Art. Website: psnielsen.com

What’s your dream fashion moment?

My dream fashion moment is to actually attend the Versace fashion week in Milan. I was in Milan in May and can’t wait to return. An amazing cultural and fashion rich center!!! Imagine Da Vinci actually painting the iconic Last Supper in that splendid city! I’m a painter intrigued by fashion design and believe I have much to contribute to it !!!

What would you do with $20,000?

The 20,000 would be used to extend my understanding of modernism through travels and collaboration with designers to create innovative, wearable clothing ,blending Art and Design. Besides painting, I spent many years helping to build an applied Arts program at Medicine Hat College in Alberta, Canada. We offer the only degree of its kind in Canada, which attempts to merge Design with Fine Arts, wherein each acts as a catalyst for the other. It is called a Bachelor of Applied Arts (Art & Design)
